Anderson Creek Apartments

The Anderson Creek Apartments is located in Boonville, near the Anderson Valley Elementary School.

Anderson Creek Apartments

The Anderson Creek Apartments consist of 4 apartments and one small cabin, dubbed “La Casita”. Each apartment and “La Casita” has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. To qualify to live at the Anderson Creek Apartments, applicants must be in the “low-income” bracket per state income limits. While these apartments are constantly occupied, there is a waiting list for those interested in applying to rent one of the apartments.

History of the anderson creek apartments

At the beginning of 2022, Kathryn Porter put the Anderson Creek Apartments for sale, after she wanted to retire from managing the property. The Anderson Valley Housing Association wasn’t interested in purchasing the property at first, as we were interested in creating new family housing, instead of buying existing housing. However, fear of losing housing stock for people living in the valley due to the potential of the Creek Apartments being converted to guest worker housing, the Anderson Valley Housing Association decided to pursue the purchase of the property in order to preserve affordable housing in the valley.

The Anderson Valley Housing Association purchased the Anderson Creek Apartments at the end of June 2022 from Kathryn Porter. This was possible, thanks to the grant Representative Jared Huffman helped us acquire. This purchase would not be possible without the grant, as the grant allowed us to secure a loan for the remaining amount needed to purchase the property. We are thrilled to be able to maintain the beautiful Anderson Creek Apartments and offer affordable housing to more AV families.

We are continuously maintaining the apartments to ensure tenants are living comfortably in the apartments and for the safety of the tenants.
